A sumptuous Victorian navette cluster ring, ablaze with a luminous Opal cabochon of approximately 2.05ct whose milky body flashes with blues, greens and pinks at every turn. The elongated oval centre is encircled by a single halo of bright old-cut Diamonds, totalling an estimated 0.70ct, creating a romantic, scintillating frame.

Quintessentially of the era, the Diamonds are set in Silver over 18ct Gold, with a beautifully pierced foliate gallery and sculpted shoulders lending delicacy to its high, architectural profile. Ornate yet refined, this two-tone treasure captures the poetry of late 19th-century craftsmanship in a boldly elegant silhouette.

Opal measures 11.5mm long x 8.5mm wide, weighing approx. 2.05ct.
Diamonds graduate from approx. 2mm to 3mm in diameter, weighing approx. 0.70ct combined.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Silver, Natural Solid Opal (2.05ct), Diamonds (0.70ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

Condition

EXCELLENT: The Opal is bright and lively, and the old-cut Diamonds are well-matched with only minimal antique facet wear visible under magnification. The Silver-topped setting and 18ct Gold shank show light surface wear and a gentle patina, with claws present and stones secure. Overall superbly preserved and clearly well cared for.
