Item Details
ERA: Georgian, c. 1750-1780.
MEASUREMENTS: Piece is 95mm long, including bale and bottom drop.
Brooch section is 75mm long x 45mm wide (without bale).
Bottom pear drop is 30mm long x 19mm wide.
Rubies graduate from 2mm to 4.5mm long, weighing approx. 4.95ct total.
Weight: 19.6g.
MATERIALS: Tests as Silver, 15ct Gold pin, Natural Rubies (4.95ct total), Rose-Cut Diamonds, Pearls.
STAMPS: Obscured mark on bale detachable pendant and bale.
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.
PACKAGING: Your order will be gift wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.
Condition
EXCELLENT. This 18th century Georgian Iberian Ruby Diamond Pearl pendant is in excellent condition. Given the age of this piece, it's in remarkable condition. The pendant has beautiful subtly pink-toned Rubies, as well as rose-cut Diamonds and Baroque Pearls. The only wear to note is to the back of the piece, where the Silver has worn down throughout its more than 250 year lifespan, exposing the backs of some of the Rubies, but they remain secure. The brooch fitting works perfectly and the bottom drop and detachable pendant function work beautifully together to give you the utmost versatility in wear.
